Small dictionary of terms, according to GEO no. 5/2015 – Annex no. 5
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS EEE:
equipment which is dependent on electric currents or electromagnetic fields in order to operate properly, and equipment for the generation, transfer, and measurement of such currents and fields, designed for use at a rated voltage of up to 1,000 volts for alternating current and 1,500 volts for direct current.
PRODUCER:
any natural person or legal entity that, regardless of the sales technique employed, including remote communication, as defined in Government Emergency Ordinance no. 34/2014 on consumer rights under contracts concluded with professionals, as well as amending and supplementing certain legislative acts:
(i) is based in Romania and manufactures EEE under its own name or trademark, or whose EEE is designed or manufactured and marketed under its own name or trademark on the territory of Romania.
(ii) is based in Romania and resells on the territory of Romania under its own name or trademark equipment manufactured by other suppliers, a reseller not being considered a “producer” when the producer’s trademark appears on the equipment according to item (i);
(iii) is based in Romania and places on the national market, on a professional basis, EEE from a third country or from another Member State of the European Union, or
(iv) sells EEE by means of remote communication directly to private households or users outside private households in Romania and is based in another Member State or in a third country.
